Tanja Räsänen

Tanja Räsänen (b. 1979- ) is a Finnish conductor, clarinetist and music educator, living in Sandvika, Norway. 
At the moment Tanja Räsänen work as an freelancer conductor and music instructor. 
She also work as an artistic leader in Hasle Brass, Regionkorps Øst and Asker Hovedkorps.
 

She graduated from the Kuopio Conservatoire completing her clarinet pedagogy degree with the highest possible grade in 2003. She continued her studies in Tampere completing her diploma in performing arts. She has studied clarinet also with f. ex. Karl Leister, Martin Fröst and Kjell Fageus. She has been player in professional orchestras (like Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, Kuopio Theatre Orchestra and Jyväskylä Sinfonietta), soloist with wind bands, chamber music orchestras and symphony orchestras ( f. ex. Kaukametsä Chamber Orchestra, Karelia Military Band, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra). Tanja has also made several premieres with Finnish composers, played in diffrent chamber music productions and teach in music schools for over 10 years.

Räsänen commenced her conducting career in Kuopio Academy of Music and Dance.
She finished her conducting master degree from the Sibelius Academy wind orchestra conducting department in April 2014 with highest possible grades. She aslo study symphony orchestra conducting with maestro Jorma Panula.
She has taken part of many international masterclasses f. ex. with maestros Tsung Yeh, Eivind Gullberg Jensen, Bjarte Engeset, Johannes Schlaefli, Tim Reynish and Mark Heron.
She has conduct several wind orchestras, chamber orchestras, brass bands and symphony orchestras (f. ex. Kainuu military Band, Finnish Air Force band, Radom Chamber Orchestra, MAV Symphony orchestra, Ruse City Brass Band, Finnish Brass Academy Brass Band and Royal Navy Band in Norway).
In 2013 she got grant for artistic work from the Finnish Cultural Foundation. 
In March 2014 she won 2nd prize in NWBC international conducting competition.
